The Bridgestone RE040 has been replaced by RE050A. Testament to it’s longevity, despite being replaced many years ago the RE040 is still found on cars today and is requested by motorists. More the fact that it was on vehicles that have done very little mileage. A great tyre when it came out, the performance was blistering in the dry but not so good in the wet. The Bridgestone RE040 was also recommended for it’s longevity but wasn’t a complete performer in that respect.

Well at first they were good, the grip was good in the wet and just as good in the dry. After a few months and 2000 miles, they have become noisy and loosing grip. Not sure why but the back end has stepped out once or twice when I’ve stepped on the pedal on both occasions the road was wet. My honest opinion I don't like the RE040's as they can be fine sometimes and then they just suprise you with huge losses of grip. I hope to wear them fast so I can go back to Dunlop’s or Pirelli’s.
