The Dunlop SP3000A is a performance tyre, although a performance tyre the SP3000 is found on very few performance vehicles and we have only come across this tyre fitted to minis and family saloons. Phased out in many sizes the SP3000a in the UK is only limited to a few sizes. The tyre pattern is asymmetric and looks very complex with the interlocking design of the grooves. Our opinion this tyre never seemed to gain any popularity even though it has been out there for some time we’ve not heard much about the SP3000A apart from a few users who have suggested that it is hard wearing and it does the job in performance which basically means its good but nothing special. Our advice is If you are only limited to SP3000A in your size then your stuck for choice. West assured all of Dunlop tyres are really high quality tyres. If there are other Dunlop’s available like the Fast response or the SP MAXX in the same size specification you require, I would advise go for them purely because there far more positives reviews on those tyres, and the fact that they are more readily available.

Came with purchase on the front - about 30% worn then. Rotated them to the rear and put new Kumho ECSTA SPT's on the front. Rotated when Kumho wear matched rear Dunlops' wear. After 40k's - both approximately 75% worn. Dunlop's have worn more evenly than the Kumho's - very evenly; traction is excellent in all conditions for both brands. I drive hard and long distances, regularly on sealed secondary country roads. Getting some tyre noise now with tread wear - not sure whether is from the Dunlop's or the Kumho's. Obviously more wear in the Dunlops, but more expensive too. Equal value for money I reckon.
