Driving locally in Romford to shops and had no idea just round the corner the police were doing random checks on cars and I was flagged by the one of the officers to pull over. Had all my documents in car and the Romford officer asked if was insured and the paper to my car. After checking my papers he went round my car looking at the tyres and then came back to me and asked me what was the minimum legal tyre depth limit I knew it was 1.6mm but I just went blank so I said "2 mm is it". Romford police officer said you haven't got a clue and your tyres are way below 1mm do you know that it is illegal and I can fine you and also give you penalty points for this. i'm gona let you off this time however please get it sorted and gave me a slip and said "get tyres changed and get stamped by a garage".
